Welcome to the Most Experienced Hyperbaric Medicine Center in the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State Area.

The Center for Hyperbaric Medicine is Greater Cincinnati’s most experienced hyperbaric medicine facility. It is housed within the University Hospital, and offers 24 hour/day, seven day/week emergency consultation and treatment capabilities. A Board Certified Hyperbaric Medicine faculty member of the Department of Emergency Medicine directs the Center. It is staffed by specially trained physicians experienced in the use of hyperbaric treatment for a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. The Center delivers full inpatient and outpatient services including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound care and transcutaneous and laser Doppler assessments. The facility also serves as the regional referral center for the national Diver’s Alert Network and provides emergency and non-emergency consultation resources regarding scuba diving injuries to physicians and the public.

The Center is under the medical direction of Dr. Laurie Gesell. Dr. Gesell is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine. Her team of doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists are all specially trained in hyperbaric medicine and in the safe operation of the chambers and equipment.
